Funds

The Ministry of the Interior is the authority responsible for managing four EU Funds in Finland

The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for managing

• the European Refugee Fund
• the European Fund for the Integration of Third-country Nationals
• the External Borders Fund
• the European Return Fund.

The Funds under the Framework Programme on Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows are aimed at helping the EU to respond to the challenges relating to external border management and asylum and migration policy. They are also designed to increase solidarity between Member States. At the same time, the Funds help to strengthen freedom, security and justice within the EU.

A total of some EUR 4 billion has been reserved for the Framework Programme on Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows for the period 2007-2013.
