Regional Centre Networks

Systematic networking between regional centres was begun at the beginning of 2005. Based on the needs expressed by the regions, the themes of the networks include environments for innovative activity, the regional development of prosperity, basic and second degree education, and culture. Various ministries participate in the operation of the networks within the themes of their branches of government. Coordination of the theme networks is mainly the responsibility of the regions.

Inter-regional networking has been supported through the type-specific differentiation of urban regions. This has been done through participation in the drafting of policies of large urban regions and through the establishment of networks of industrial urban regions and rural regional centres.
