Internal security is the Ministry’s key area of responsibility
Under the Ministry, the key authorities in the field of internal security are the police, the rescue services, the Border Guard and the Emergency Response Centre Administration. All these security authorities have broad areas of responsibility.
The police are responsible for public order and security and for the fight against crime, the regional rescue services for the operations of rescue departments, and the Border Guard for effective border management and command of maritime search and rescue.
The Emergency Response Centre Administration handles emergency calls for the rescue, police and social and health services and relays the information they receive to the appropriate authorities or partners.
