Immigration policy
The Government Programme states that the integration of immigrants and the prevention of discrimination are essential activities during this Government's term of office. The Government aims for an immigration policy that supports the building of an unprejudiced, safe and pluralistic Finland, and enhances Finland’s international competitiveness.
The Government endeavours to increase the employment rate of immigrants, make integration policy more effective, accelerate the processing of asylum applications, and intensify the prevention of discrimination.
Management of immigration matters
The Minister of the Interior is responsible for immigration matters, except for integration. The responsibility for integration lies with the Minister of Labour.
